Appliance Repair questions from Palm Beach County homeowners
How much does appliance repair cost in Palm Beach County?
The service call is $89 to $119, waived when you approve the repair. Most repairs land between $175 and $450 parts and labor. The price is quoted flat after diagnosis and before any work begins.
Should I repair or replace?
If the appliance is under ten years old and the repair is less than half the cost of a comparable new unit, repair. Over that, the technician will tell you which way to go and charge only the service call if you decide to replace.
How fast can you come out?
Refrigerators and freezers are same-day in West Palm Beach when you call before noon. Most other appliances are next-day. Gated communities, condo buildings and seasonal homes are routine for us: we carry insurance certificates for the gates, schedule through property managers, front desks and home watch services, and text an arrival window so nobody waits by the door. Appliances inside a condo unit are normally the owner's to repair, so you can book directly.
Do you have the parts with you?
Common parts for the common failures on the major brands are on the truck: igniters, heating elements, thermal fuses, inlet valves, drain pumps, belts, rollers and the most frequent control boards. Brand-specific or luxury parts are ordered and installed on a scheduled return visit.
Is there a warranty?
Every repair carries a parts and labor warranty. The warranty period depends on the part and is written on your invoice.
Which brands do you repair?
Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire, Maytag, KitchenAid, Kenmore, Bosch, Electrolux, Amana, Haier, Speed Queen, and luxury brands including Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, Miele, Dacor, JennAir and Fisher & Paykel.
My appliance died after a storm or power outage. Is that covered by anything?
Palm Beach County logged more than 700,000 lightning strikes in 2024, third among U.S. counties by Vaisala's count, and a large share of the control board failures we see follow a summer storm or a power flicker. A whole-house surge protector, including the meter-based program FPL Home offers, is cheaper than the second board. Some homeowners policies cover surge damage; the technician documents the failure for your claim.
Do you work in condos and gated communities?
Yes.
Do you repair appliances still under manufacturer warranty?
If the unit is still under the manufacturer's warranty, the manufacturer only pays for work done by its authorized servicer. We will tell you if your unit is likely still covered so you do not pay out of pocket for something the manufacturer owes you.
Are you licensed and insured?
Florida has no state license for appliance repair, but any technician opening a sealed refrigerant system must hold EPA Section 608 certification, and new or altered gas piping to a range or dryer is licensed work in Florida, so a licensed gas contractor handles it. We carry general liability insurance, with certificates for gated communities and condo associations on request.
Most repairs are completed in a single visit.
